Ladies Night out event Hosted by Mangalorean Association (DC/ MD/ VA) DISCO FIESTA 2025: A Night of Glam, Groove, and Girl Power!
If sparkle had a sound, if joy had a beat — it would be LADIES NIGHT - DISCO FIESTA!
Hosted on May 18th, 2025, Where QUEENS gathered, and MAGIC happened!! the ultimate Ladies Night that took center stage, dazzling everyone with an unforgettable blend of cocktails, charisma, and contagious energy!
From start to finish, the room pulsed with energy, elegance, laughter, unstoppable fun and unforgettable memories. This wasn’t just an event — it was a full-blown Gala of glamour, sass, and sequins!
Grand powerful Opening: Curtains Up, A Royal Kickoff! : The night launched with a warm and empowering welcome speech by our President Flavie Rebello, who set the tone with her inspiring words and contagious energy. She then proudly introduced the brilliant committee members — the powerhouse women and supportive men behind the scenes who turned this dream event into a dazzling reality. The room was already buzzing with anticipation, and the energy only soared from there!
Breaking the Ice, Bonding the Hearts: To melt the formalities and stir the fun, we dove into the thoughtful and heartwarming icebreaker game — “Her Story in Words.”
This wasn’t an average intro round; this was a space where every woman shared a line about herself — raw, real, bold, or funny. Each lady shared one sentence about herself, creating a beautiful mosaic of dreams, humor, strength, and unique journeys. By the end of it, this simple activity gave them a sense of pride in who they are, and what they have overcome. It was the perfect warm-up to the magic ahead!
Games, Giggles & Spot Prizes Galore! What’s a fiesta without some fierce fun? Engaging games brought out everyone’s playful side, with spirited competition and lots of laughter, and "I want that prize!" moments. And yes, those spot prizes flew faster than margaritas!
Performances That Brought the House Down: Then came the moment when the stage lit up and the spotlight hit — the performances were nothing short of Sensational! Each performance drew roars of applause. These ladies didn’t just perform — they owned the stage, leaving the audience completely spellbound.
First up, a high-octane disco dance (by Anita, Shanaya, Flavie, Renita, Prash and Naina) that had everyone clapping and grooving in their seats.
Then came a fiery, flavorful Mexican-themed performance (by Merlyn Mathias, Wilma Andrade and Julia Dante) bursting with color, culture, and charisma — ¡olé!
The Beat Dropped… and So Did Our Inhibitions! The music? ROCKING. The dance floor? ON FIRE. As the DJ of the Night- Merlyn Mathias dropped those disco beats, ladies couldn’t resist — stilettos off, moves on, hearts full. This wasn’t dancing — it was a release!!!! A celebration and feminine spirit let loose! A reminder that fun, freedom, and connection still live at the heart of every woman. From throwback hits to current anthems, the floor turned into a stage where every move said, "This is our moment." Shout out to Shanaya and Malin for bringing the hype and setting the vibe with your lead!! By the end, women were left catching their breath, flushed with laughter, sweat, and happiness, smiles were wide, and spirits were high. The dance on the dance floor wasn’t just a highlight, it was a soul-refreshing, joy-filled experience that made the night unforgettable.
Ramp Walk Royalty! : The stunning Ramp walk that had the ladies strutting their confidence and style like true queens. The queens hit the runway with confidence, flair, and pure fire. It wasn’t just a fashion walk; it was a celebration of confidence, curves, and charisma, glamour, grace, and bold moves that ruled the runway, and the crowd couldn’t get enough! Next, the runway turned into a QUEENDOM! Our fierce, fabulous ladies grooved on the ramp walk, bringing confidence, elegance, sass and attitude. The audience cheered like it was Fashion Week — because it WAS!
Crowning Glory: Our Dancing Queen!
And then — drumroll please — came the epic crowning of the Dancing Queen!
All eyes turned to the spotlight for the most awaited moment — the crowning of the Dancing Queen.
The lady who stole the show on the dance floor – Lovinia Lopes-Faison walked away with the crown, the applause, and everyone’s heart! We are also grateful to our wonderful judges, Anitha Furtado, Jessie D'souza, Priya D'mello and Esmie Wright for lending their time and fairness to the evening's competitions
Karaoke Craze & Photo Booth Fun
Then came the karaoke sessions — some melodic, some manic, all absolutely iconic. Voices soared, laughter exploded, and the mic was hot! Add to that a Photo Booth Corner (Mastermind Anita Furtado and manned by Shanaya Fernandes) where everyone turned into divas, goofballs, and stars — striking poses, clicking memories, and freezing the night in frames of fabulousness. The photo booth with funky props - Fancy disco glasses, chains, disco balls, captured every crazy, sassy, beautiful moment— the selfies were as legendary as the night!
A Moment of Grace: Prayer & Thanksgiving
As the night drew to a glittering close, we paused for a soul-soothing prayer — a moment of gratitude for friendship, joy, and the power of coming together. Gratitude with Grace was expressed in Thanksgiving prayer by President Flavie Rebello. That brought a tender close to the evening’s formal segment. A reminder of the blessings shared, the bonds built, and the beauty of the community that made it all possible.
Heartfelt Thanksgiving note by Genevieve Albuquerque (Treasurer) followed, appreciating every effort, every sparkle, every soul that made the night unforgettable.
Decor Goals & Feast Like No Other
Let’s talk about aesthetics-the Backdrop with colorful balloons themed banner and table decor tailored by Anita Furtado were mind-blowing. Think of shimmering disco balls, bold color palettes, string lights, glitter trails, and a vibe that screamed Disco night fever meets fiesta heaven!
And the food?
Ladies night out kicked off just right – with hot steaming tea and spread of sumptuous snacks- warm sips, tasty bites, and even warmer conversations… the perfect start to- Night to remember!
Then came Mexican madness! All that glam needs fuel — and we served it up with a variety of dishes everyone brought - with a Mexican feast to die for! Guests indulged in a delicious spread of mouth-watering Mexican cuisine- from Crispy tacos, Zesty Nachos, spicy enchiladas, creamy guacamole, and more — it was a flavor explosion, every bite was a fiesta in itself.
Washed down with endless Margarita mayhem, cocktails - fruity, fizzy, and dangerously fun! and wine!!! served by our Gorgeous Bartender of the Night - Julia Dante!
Every bite and sip kept the party spirit alive!
Legendary MC : An unforgettable performance by true Master of the Ceremony Renita Nazareth! With charisma on the mic, perfect timing, and unstoppable energy, she kept the crowd engaged, the vibes high, and the night flowing seamlessly. She was the heartbeat of the celebration—commanding the room with style, humor, and pure class
Event Photography: Shout out to Naina to capture all the Magic, Laughter and unforgettable vibes of ladies night, Thanks to her incredible eye, we get to relive the magic all over again!!!
Perfect Venue: A big thank you goes to Julia Dante for finding and booking the perfect venue! Her thoughtful planning created the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable event. Her choice set the tone for a warm, inviting, and vibrant evening.
Registration & Budget Management: Special appreciation goes out to our Treasurer-Genevieve Albuquerque and Joint Treasurer-Stephanie Albuquerque for their excellent coordination. From the adorable registration wrist bands to their diligent efforts in managing the finances, collecting contributions, and keeping everything within budget, their behind-the-scenes work ensured a smooth and stress-free event for everyone.
Decorations & Setup: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our families and friends who helped with decorations and the setup. Their creativity and hard work transformed the space into a festive haven, full of charm and Cheer.
Food & Hospitality: Our heartfelt thanks to all the ladies who brought food and drinks—the spread was truly a celebration of flavors and generosity. From savory bites to sweet treats, everything was made with love and shared in the same spirit. We also deeply appreciate the ladies for your help with keeping the food organized and ensuring everyone felt looked after throughout the evening. And after all the fun, a big thank you to all those who stayed behind to help reorganize. Your teamwork and consideration did not go unnoticed.
DISCO FIESTA wasn’t just a night — it was a whole MOOD.
