FLAVIE LOBO
Flavie hails from the coastal region of Kallianpur, Udupi. She lives currently in Fredericksburg, Virginia with her husband, Ivon and her two sons Dwayne and Dylan.
She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Fr. Muller’s College of Nursing at Mangalore and thereafter pursued MBA in Healthcare sciences.
She lived and worked in Kuwait for 19 years before immigrating to America. She is presently working in the quality and safety department at Mary Washington Hospital in a collaborative role as an infection preventionist. She is an active person with an outgoing personality having interests in traveling, fun activities, participating in social occasions, festivities and celebrations.
She believes that taking up the role of a president will give her an opportunity to nurture, strengthen and foster a sense of community spirit with deep and meaningful connection with our local land, and the culture that resides in our heart and soul where we come from.
Neville lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife Megha, daughter Sarah, mom Irene and their three dogs Fomie, Reddington and Astro. He grew up in Mangalore before moving to the US. Currently he works for the Department of Defense in law enforcement. Prior to transitioning to the civilian role, Neville served in the US Army for ten years and is currently a Army Reservist with the Military Police Corps.
Genevieve grew up in India, spending her childhood in Bombay, Lucknow, Delhi, Bangalore, Secunderabad, Dehra Dun and Nashik – the result of being the daughter of an Army doctor who got transferred around the country every few years. Her early married years were spent in Bangalore. She moved to Maryland in 1998 with her husband Trevor and her two sons, Michael and Paul. She has been a member of the MCA since then. Genevieve works for the Dept. of Health & Human Services, Montgomery County. She loves to garden, cook, sew, paint and best of all, playing with her 2-year-old grand-daughter.
Merlyn is originally from Mudarangadi, near Udupi and lives in Chantilly, VA with her husband Wilson and two boys - Justin and Shawn. She works for ByLight Professional IT Services as a Lead/Sr. Software Engineer. She loves to dance, read, play chess and solve sudoku puzzles in her free time. She has served as a MCA committee member in the past for six years. She is very excited to be a part of the committee again and look forward to serving the community in every way she can.
Stephanie lives in Derwood, MD with her husband Paul and 2 year old daughter Claire. She was born in Canada, but grew up in Bangalore and moved to the DMV area in 2017. She works for Club Capital as a Tax Compliance Specialist.
Daryl lives in Bristow, Virginia with his wife Cherylann for more than 20 years. They have two sons Dylan and Justin. Daryl spent his childhood years in Bahrain and Bombay before migrating to the US as an IT engineer. He now works at Swift as a Director of IT services
Clint lives in Woodstock, MD. Born in Mumbai, India, happily married to Sonal Jacinto. They are blessed with a boy, Ethan Almeida who is in Middle School. He currently works for Geico, MD. Clint previously served the Association as Vice President
Prema is originally from Mangalore, moved to USA 4 years ago after living in Toronto and Ottawa in Canada for 6 years. She is married with 2 children. She works for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore
Clement lives in Ellicott City, MD with his wife Malin and two kids, Joshua and Jaden. His family belongs to Ajekar, Karkala Taluk. He grew up in Bangalore/Bengaluru before moving to the US(Michigan) to pursue his Masters. He currently works as a Lead Software Engineer at T.Rowe Price. Clement and Malin have been active members of the association from 2006. His wife Malin Mendonca was the vice president of MCA for the 2017-2019 term.
Julia lives in Fairfax, VA, and is originally from Kemmannu, Udupi. She is the wife of V. James Dante and has two daughters and a granddaughter. She is an AMI-trained Montessori teacher. Beyond her profession, she is a passionate foodie who enjoys exploring and cooking diverse cuisines, traveling, and gardening.
Julia previously served as the President of the Mangalorean Catholic Association (MCA), during which she played an instrumental role in organizing and ensuring the success of various events. She looks forward to continuing her contributions to the association by supporting and participating in its social and cultural activities.
Anitha born in the serene town of Hassan, Karnataka, India, has dedicated her life to the noble profession of nursing. She pursued her education, including a BSc in Nursing, in Hassan before embarking on a remarkable journey as a Neonatal ICU Nurse in Bangalore and Kuwait. In 2018, she took a new leap in life, immigrating to the USA with her family, where she continues her passion for neonatal care at Mary Washington Hospital NICU in Fredericksburg. Anitha and Nishan have two children, Shanaya and Neil. Anitha values the preciousness of life and cherishes every moment, both professionally and personally. When she’s not caring for newborns, she enjoys cooking, dancing, and listening to music, finding joy in creativity and rhythm.
Celine (Jessie) resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was born, brought up, and studied in Karkala, Karnataka. Before moving to the US in 2017, she and her husband, Fredrick D Souza, lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for about 37 years, where she worked as an office manager in a German organization called BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH, Abu Dhabi Branch. She has two children: a daughter, Linora, whom she lives with in Gaithersburg, and a son, Pranoop, in North Carolina. In her free time, Jessie loves cooking, gardening, sewing, and playing board games and cards with her family and grandkids.

V James Dante is the former President of the Mangalorean Catholic Association, having served as the President of the Association from 2019 through 2022 and as the Committee member from 2017 through 2019. He lives in Fairfax, VA, and hails from the coastal temple town of Udupi. He is married to Julia Dante and is blessed with 2 daughters and a granddaughter. He has done his B.Tech in Engineering from KREC/NITK Surathkal and MBA from University of Bombay. He has worked for a long time with large private organizations in India, Canada and USA, before switching to US federal government consulting. Apart from regular job, he likes spending his time in helping several community organizations. During his Presidency at the Mangalorean Association, he led his committee to achieve several memorable feats, many of those for the first time in the history of the Association. He successfully steered the efforts to get the Association registered and recognized as a Non-profit (501c3) organization to be able to carry out charitable events and receive donations. He believes in team work and has been successful in tapping talents from within the committee and the community to perform. He says that the association has helped him develop many friendships and is looking forward to guiding the future committees in their endeavors to be successful.
Juliet lives in South Riding, VA with her daughter Keira (15). She was raised in Falnir, Mangalore and then moved to the U.S in 2002 with her husband Late Lance Barboza.
She completed her BDS in Mangalore and MHA in the U.S. She currently works for LCPS. Keira is a Sophomore in St. Paul VI High School. Juliet has been a past president of the MCA from 2015-2017. She has been in the advisory committee since 2022. In her free time, Juliet loves baking, gardening, listening to music and playing board games with her daughter.

Esmie lives in Falls Church Va. She spent her formative years in Belgaum and then moved to Bangalore where she worked as an officer at the Vijaya Bank, HO. She emigrated to the US in the 80s. With a degree in law and MS in Accounting, Esmie has been working in the Insurance Industry for several years. She was associated with the initial group that came together to form the Mangalorean Association and proudly served as its 3rd President.
